With the blindingly fast rate of technology, and the irremovable tether to the real world at all times (even when hundreds of miles into the wilderness) it is always handy to carry some of the contents of your wallet. I’m not talking about that business card the Amway rand-o gave you at the bar last weekend (how do you feel about residual income??), but the necessities. Things like your driver’s license, credit card, health insurance card, cash, and for the wilderness, a spare battery for your phone.
Instead of carrying your Givenchy (I have no idea who or what Givenchy is, but after a google search, it is noted that they sell absurdly expensive wallets) wallet, make a wallet using a small zip lock bag and duct tape. The duct tape gives the zip lock bag a much stronger construction and the plastic of the bag creates waterproofing for the contents. An added benefit is that the bag literally weighs less than an ounce. Rugged, light, and costs less than 25 cents to make, this is a must for all hiking and camping excursions.
**Double Jackpot on this one as I found a travel toothbrush and toothpaste (which will be thrown in the pack as well) for $0.84 at my local grocery store.
